Wings West Resumes Operations Effective Immediately

Kalamazoo, Mich. – Wings West business operations resumed effective 1 p.m. today after receiving a bomb threat earlier this morning. A thorough search by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's deputies and K-9 unit, has confirmed the building is secure.

“We take any threat to the safety and security of our associates and guests seriously,” said Sarah Lee, director of marketing and communications for Greenleaf Hospitality Group. “We involved law enforcement immediately the moment we received notice of the potential bomb threat and the building was evacuated. Our associates have been trained to handle situations similar to this as part of our policies and procedures training.”

Earlier today Wings West received a bomb threat via email that was sent to a West Michigan news station. Staff and guests were evacuated from the building until authorities had properly searched the building for a potential bomb.

The building was searched by law enforcement and nothing was found. The building has been checked and cleared, business resumed immediately after the all clear. The Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association‘s Holiday Ice Revue first show will resume at 3:00 p.m. and the second show at 7:00 p.m. Additional security has been stationed at Wings West for this event.
