Kalamazoo, Mich. - The manufacturing industry is growing and area
employers have jobs! Michigan WORKS! is assisting with the immediate
need to fill these jobs and is hosting the Hired!
Manufacturing 2014 Career Fair to connect interested job seekers with
manufacturing employers in the greater Kalamazoo region.
The Hired!
Manufacturing 2014 Career Fair is a unique, invitation-only, two-day
event. Some of the participating employers include American Axle,
Fabri-Kal, Humphrey Products, Janesville Acoustics, Stryker, Pfizer, and
many others. The employers will be seeking to fill all
levels of open positions in the manufacturing industry. Types of jobs
include: customer service, logistics, machinists, warehouse, engineers,
etc. "What an exciting time to be in manufacturing, said
Jan Opalewski, HR manager at Fabri-Kal, "With the advancements in
technology, manufacturing has become a career path giving employees
ongoing opportunities to learn and grow."
The
first day's activities are intended to prepare attendees for the
industry specific career fair that will take place on the second day. Day
one will include information on the skills manufacturing employers are
looking for, job preview, resume critique and mock interviews.
For the first day's activities, individuals may choose to attend either Monday, January 27 in Three Rivers or Tuesday, January 28
in Kalamazoo. Those who attend and complete the first day's activities
will receive a ticket to attend the career fair which will take place on

Job
seekers interested in attending must pre-register and can do so at
either the Kalamazoo Michigan WORKS! Service Center located at 1601 S.
Burdick or Three Rivers Michigan WORKS! located at 16587 Enterprise
Drive. The deadline to register the event is 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2014.
As
previously mentioned, individuals will be required to attend and
complete all of the first day's sessions and activities in order to
